Had another blank page to deal with today! So I played a little game and assigned myself the challenge of photographing the title of a chapter in the book. The catch was that it had to be the one my thumb stopped in when I fanned out the pages. What a relief when I landed on this one!
In this particular chapter Milo learns the power of words to paint pictures by watching a symphony orchestra with thousands of instruments play the colors of the sunset without making a single sound. And perhaps you have read a book like that where the author has the power to put you in the middle of a story by merely describing the scenery.
However, I find that 365 is quite the opposite. Here we discover the power of a picture to produce words- words that describe how we feel about what we are seeing. The old adage proclaims "A picture's worth a thousand words". But maybe the worth is not the picture alone but the combination of words and picture; a marriage of expression and vision. Words and picture have the ability to create or destroy, to bind or to inspire, to shake or to build. Images produce thoughts and thoughts turn into the strike of a letter on our keyboard. Letters turn into words and words into phrases that encourage, critique, expound and evoke a response in return. Photos and commentary produce their own colorful symphony and on The 365 Project your words and pictures have joined the orchestra.
You have such a wonderful way of expounding on the topic! You are a wonderful writer! Have you ever thought of doing anything with it, or have you done anything with it? I vote that you should! Oh, sorry, love the pic too!
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @lilypad Thank you Ellie- this is just the way they are in my little scrapbooking bucket- didn't really move anything. @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry- I had actually taken this shot as an option for the selfless selfie, but ended up using my tapestry instead. It came in handy for today! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! @cdford Thank you Cindy! I have dabbled, but have not been serious or intentional in pursuing it. I currently have a short devotional I'm trying to upload in the Barnes & Noble ebook "store" but it seems I must do the entire book as one document and my computer cannot handle all the chapters as one document so I'm at a loss right now as to what to do about that. Tried contacting the website, but no response so far. Time to revisit that again!! Thank you for your vote of confidence. I also write a weekly bulletin insert for my congregation which seems to be well-received. I really appreciate your encouragement. I've been praying a lot lately as to where He wants me to go and what He wants me to do. But I have no leading in any direction. I will keep praying on that! @bk12racing Thank you Mike! I am really appreciating your comments here.
