Before the alphabet was developed cuneiform reigned supreme in Mesopotamia and hieroglyphs ruled in Egypt. By 2700 BCE the ancient Egyptians had developed a set of 22 hieroglyphs which were used both to designate words and names.
@cortens Thanks Julie! You should have seen me going through all the drawers! I had taken a different one yesterday, but wasn't crazy about it-hence the early morning search for a replacement shot. @mrssmith Thanks Carla! I was happy when I found it in the sewing drawer.
@cimes1 Thanks Carole- I'm beginning to believe you can see anything if you look hard enough! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen. I think you'll do really well with this. @digitalrn I'm having fun. I'm certain with all your wonderful antiques and collectables you'd have an amazing alphabet. @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! I am really having fun with it. I'm seeing letters everywhere!
@sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry! @prttblues Thanks Bev! I was on a roll today- I found d, e, f, g and h already! I have to stop myself otherwise I'd have the whole alphabet done tomorrow!
@alia_801 It'll come. One of the ways I go on hunt is to look at things first and then say "What letter does that look like?" rather than "Where can I find a D?" I think I find them faster that way- although this one I found asking the second question rather than the first!
