What a poignant shot- Dad not looking too well, but so pleased with his granddaughters' achievement! On Monday, May 14th, Dad had a graduation of his own. He told the nurse in the ICU that he was going home. She asked him where his home was in order to determine if he was hallucinating and he replied, "I live" and breathed his last. Although it's the last picture we have of Dad it's perfect because of the subject matter.
@kimcrisp Thank you Kim- we know we are going to treasure it. @monker Thank you Monker. Those pictures will be such a blessing to you and your family. And so will the stories. Wow- 98 years old is awesome!
What a piece of treasure that is! For the girls and for you all.
And how lovely that he talked that way to the nurse.
When we know where they have gone we haven't really lost them!
wow! such a powerful testimony even in his last moments. Sorry for your loss. Praying you find comfort in Him who is the God of all comfort (2nd Corinthians 1:3-5)
poignant, indeed. what a lovely thing for your nieces to remember, not so much the loss of their grandfather, but more like the happiness he must've felt in seeing the success of these young girls. very nice shot. i hope you're carrying well.
When I read this I immediately went back to July 26th last year to the last photo we have of Dad, him hitting one of his last golf balls just before departing to his new life.
I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad, but what a wonderful last picture to have. Those girls will never forget that moment. And how wonderful for him to have seen them in their graduation clothes. I like the idea of passing on thinking about ice cream! What a guy!
Thank you, thank you, thank you one and all- yes it's a tear-jerker and a joyful shot all in the same breath. Your kind words and loving thoughts have just been so helpful, I can't really put it into words. But when I was in a place where I did not have any immediate friends for support, 365 was there instead and it just meant so much!!
Seeing this picture brought tears to my eyes. Oh Ann I'm so sorry for your loss but happy for your Dad that the saw his girls graduate.. a wonderful picture of him and the graduates. I know you'll treasure it.
Hi Ann, just catching u. So sorry to hear of your fathers passing but happy you were able to get this photo of him. A photo to treasure. Isn't it wonderful that he knew and was ready to go "home"
@cortens Thank you Julie! Yes, knowing that has been a true blessing. It brings hope all the way around- a peace knowing that you know where that special person is, and a peace knowing that though your remaining time on earth may not seem brief, there will be a happy reunion in the presence of the Lord that nothing will compare to!
@allie912 Thank you Allison. I certainly understand and appreciate the belated condolences. When I first arrived in Vermont I had more time at night to post and comment. But as time went on it became harder and harder to do so. So I missed a lot of yours too!

Well isn't that nice. Our 365 world is very small and nicely intimate at times like these! Go gently through the days!
