Lovely colors and silhouettes! I wonder if they have sunsets in Heaven and I think everything pure and beautiful is there, therefore they must have lovely sunsets and sunrises!
@potsbypam Well, if you take the Bible literally, it says in Revelation that there is no sun in heaven because the Lamb is its light. However, I don't think we lose out on the beauty of sunrises and sunsets because it also says that in Eternity there will be a new heaven and a new earth- hence lots of beautiful sunrises and sunsets to look forward too. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian!
A very fitting picture. sorry I just found out today...I've not been able to comment so much do to my sickness and I'm just now feeling a bit better..coundn't sit with the pinch nerve I believe I have. when I google Sciatica all the symptoms fit.
@geertje It was quite spectacular. Thanks Geertje! @lisjam1 Thank you Lisa! @sarasdadandmom Thank you Terry! @bruni Oh Bruni, I'm so sorry to hear you're under the weather. I've known people with sciatica and it's very painful. I hope relief comes your way very soon. Thank you for your kind words. @karenann Thank you Karenann! @groovygirlrn Thank you Sheri!
It is touching, and I remember the empty, kind of numb feeling we felt after Dad passed. We had moments like this and it always triggered a fond memory.
Thank you so much Rich, Rick, Wendy, Marie, Phil, Dione and Carole. I have to say, I am sad to see my father go, but I have had such a peace throughout this time of mourning. I can't tell you what it was like to watch my father labor to breathe during his final days. I hated seeing him struggle so. I think I was prepared for his death by seeing his struggle. But most of all, I could see several things come together in such a way that I knew God's hand was in it. I know that not everyone believes this way, but for me it has given me the strength to say good-bye without going into a deep depression over the loss. So the sunset became a beautiful reminder that in all seasons of life there is beauty when placed in the hands of the Creator.
Spectacular sky! You can never go wrong with a sunset like this. Perfect tones and colors. I'm glad my state was kind to you on your visit. I just wish it was for more joyous reasons. It's so hard when we lose a parent.
@prttblues Thanks Bev. Well, there were many years with happier visits and all photographed as well! And my sister and nieces are still there, so there will be more visits in the future (at which point we will be able to get together too!).
