I am not a huge fan of modern art, but when it comes to taking photographs of it, I really like it as I'm drawn to the abstract. I loved sneaking this shot in at Boston's Fine Art Museum and am thankful that my little point and shoot makes no noise when I snap a shot because this woman's questioning view of this particular sculpture was priceless! Had I been discovered it would have destroyed the whole scene. I could have posted this shot alone, but I wanted you to see just how it's actually mounted on the wall, so this collage layout seemed to be the answer.
@salza Thank you Sally! I had to act fast- a second later and she was no longer looking up but reading the info card. @kandernob Thanks Karen! It was really a perfect moment in time. @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @henrir Thanks Henri! It was one of those shots I knew was going to be a good one. @prttblues Thanks Bev! (It'd be Spiderwoman though fyi. I didn't take the more revealing angle of that fact). @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! @automaticslim Thanks Andy! There's one little flaw for me in that I had to act quickly and I didn't get all of her feet in the shot. Otherwise, I agree. @mrssmith Thanks Carla! It was one of those special moments I felt sort of privileged to capture as a photographer.
@wenbow Thank you Wendy! This really was a special shot for me- one of those moments you treasure as a photographer where the composition and everything just falls into place as it happens.
i hope that thing is light as a paper. i'd hate for it to be installed in my home and falling off and hitting me in the process. the left photo is quite engaging, though; you captured pretty well the body languange of the lady. i say that's a great shot!
@summerfield It's definitely not paper! But I imagine that thing is anchored quite heavily behind that wall. I can just see the curator explaining the loss of a pricey sculpture to the museum board, "Well, we thought the tacky glue would work, but it appears the piece was just too heavy..."
