I'm thankful for the plants which produce seeds for the birds. My bird feeder is a source of non-stop entertainment. I appreciate the carefully designed cycle of nature that produces plants, which produce seeds which become a source of nutrition for the birds. I know the birds could find seeds on their own without my help, but this way I get to enjoy their antics up close and in plain sight. I had a Nuthatch reminding me he could not eat the seeds if I didn't hang up the feeder while I was taking this shot!
@nicolecampbell lol Nicole- I think they do! @chrismarfil Thank you Chris! I mix a couple different kinds together for different birds. My dream is to have a better camera so that I can take pictures of them at some point.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @eudora Thanks Diane! @salza Thanks Sally! @sangwann Thanks Dione- had a couple to choose from, but I liked this one becasue it was a bit different. @alia_801 Thanks Alia! I was taking this shot on my back deck and he was perched on the side of the house (on the corner upside down as they like to do) and chirping away at me- hurry up! I'm hungry! You're a slow poke! It's in focus- now hang it up! lol @henrir Thanks Henri! I put a mixture of these seeds, Sunflower seeds and thistle in this one. I get Goldfinches, Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse, Nuthatches, Purple Finches, Chirping Sparrows, Blue Jays, Cardinals and all kinds of woodpeckers. Such fun!!
@raejae Thank you RaeJae! It's just the gray lid of the bird feeder- but that's exactly why I chose this shot over the others I took. I liked the contrast between the colorful seeds and the lid.
I like the point of view, the textures and colors. Makes one realize how dependent we are on mother nature human or animals. Feeding the birds and now squirrels is a passion of mine too.
@rhubbard Thanks Rich! I know they can fend for themselves (they do seem to survive when I'm gone for a few days!), but it's so much fun to watch them!
Cool shot. I've never actually seen what people put in those things before. Without the birds, we wouldn't have subjects to chase after trying to get their pictures! Nice job!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! lol We always think we're doing them such a favor- but they really do know how to fend for themselves! @tara11 Thanks Tara! Yes, I could watch them for hours!
@olivetreeann Yeah but they know they are doing us a favor by giving us nice things to look at when they come to feed. It's a win-win for the birds and us!
