I had a major project to work on Wednesday, so the pictures I took had to be quick. I noticed my little Downy dining on the suet feeder while I was fixing lunch. Thankfully he was too busy eating to be bothered by the camera!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! I have to fill it every three to four days about. I make my own suet- an inexpensive recipe which I modified from a friend's recipe. The birds don't seem to mind! @dakotaburns Thanks Donald! I have Hairys, Red-Bellied, Nuthatches, and more that love to nibble on this one.
Thank you Diane, Nicole, Carole, Dione, and Bev! Those splashes of orange in the background are oak leaves still hanging on in the winter. Some of these trees never lose the dead leaves until the new ones come out in Spring. It's like they don't want to be naked!
@filsie65 Thanks Phil- not too much color survives around here in the winter but these leaves forget that they are dead and keep hanging on. They act as a symbol of hope that color will return soon.
@vposey Thank you Vickie- I always chuckle at myself for being so worried when the seed goes down. Do I really think the birds won't find food if I don't have it in the feeder? lol

Thank you Henri, Kathryn, Rick, Laraine, and Terry!
