I don't usually enter the weekly themes. I seem to talk myself out of them either because I'm already doing another challenge or because I think there must be thousands of entries that would be better than mine! But how could I resist the theme of books?!
@anazad511 Thank you Ana- you probably viewed them as they first loaded. For some reason, every now and then, 365 will load my vertical pictures horizontally. I then have to "fix it" in the "edit with Picmonkey" option. It is a royal pain! But I can't figure out how to turn the picture in the "upload" mode. It should look upright now.
@anazad511 I thought so! (o: @edie Thanks Edie! Antique books seemed to call out for sepia! @allie912 Thanks Alison- and climb into worlds of the imagination! I was thinking of you when I read this week's theme.
@allie912 I look at the pictures that make it to the vote off and realize my p & s can't compete with the quality. But this one I thought I'd give it a try anyway- just for the love of books! @maggiemae Thanks Maggie- yes, they're old- the bottom one is my father's family Bible- Quite old! And the top two were my mom's. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! I know you are a book lover too! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! They are quite old to begin with- sepia just seemed appropriate.
Thank you Rick, Donald, Lisa, Diane, Dione, Carla, Henri and Natacha! They are family treasures which have been featured in other shots, but not as up close and personal as this one. I liked it the moment I perceived it.
@natacha Thank you so much Natacha- that is one of the nicest things someone has said to me about a challenge shot!
@filsie65 Thanks Phil! I know- these books are family heirlooms- but when I was in seminary, the library had a "clearance sale" of some of their really old books and I bought some just to sit on my shelf and look old!
@prttblues Thanks Bev- they are old and this is shot in sepia. No processing other than adding a very small vignette. @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! They were my mother's and are both prayer books. One was given to her by my grandfather and both are dated 1944. I think they brought her a lot of comfort. The largest book on the bottom is actually a small antique photo album that has pictures from my father's side of the family in it. Pretty cool!
