Snowy Deer by olivetreeann

Snowy Deer

You can add 4 more inches to the 9 that fell on Sunday. Poor Bambi is covered up to the top of her neck!
Love the high key effect here.

@edie Thanks Edie! I did bump up the exposure a little bit, but it's truly that white around here today!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! How do you like my tag a al Northy?
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
December 18th, 2013
@summerfield I figured it was real too! The way Ann said it...she is so believable!
December 18th, 2013
@olivetreeann - i was thinking but forgot to write it, that @northy 's rubbing off on you a lot!
December 18th, 2013
@espyetta LOL Marybeth- I think the cracked ears are a dead give away! But sorry for the misleading info! Maybe I should put a qualifier on there. But most folks know I run outside and chase the deer away from the birdfeeder so why would I have one lying down in my yard!? hehe
@summerfield LOL that could be a possibility in the tag area for sure!!
December 18th, 2013
@olivetreeann @summerfield just thought he was a little worse for wear. Hee hee
December 18th, 2013
@espyetta - it's a deer they move quite lightning-like, so it's impossible for it to get trapped in the snow like that, except of course if it's a statue. now, let me go get that drink. :-)
December 18th, 2013
Hee hee. He looks so perplexed!
December 18th, 2013
Great to show the depth of the snow this way!
December 18th, 2013
@summerfield One hot chocolate coming right up!
@archaeofrog Thanks Katie- so perplexed she's frozen! (I know that the real Bambi was a HE, but there are obviously no antlers on this one, so it's a SHE).
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! If we get anymore she'll be covered!

We got a foot Sunday and expected to get 5-8 more. But, it's pouring down the snow all evening. I hope we don't end up with another foot. We have a mountain of snow in our front yard from where they cleared our cul de sac Sunday morning. As cold as it is, it may be here until spring.
December 18th, 2013
@homeschoolmom I hear you!!! Bitter cold here as well. But I am happily in front of the wood stove. Now for a hot chocolate! Thanks Lisa!

Nice shot, Ann. Bambi looks cold. That's some deep snow. Ready to move to warmer climate yet?
December 18th, 2013
Gorgeous high key shot. I originally thought this was a real deer and thought that the snow was REALLY deep. Then, I realized that this is a statue. Now, I know I am tired.
December 19th, 2013
Awesome shot.

@digitalrn Thanks Rick! Well, we are a bit north of you so I don't think you have to worry too much- but the way the weather's been lately, maybe you do!!
@yaorenliu Thanks Yao! Warm for a statue perhaps, but not a person!
@twr Thanks Timothy!
@dodo63 Thank you Dodo! I was very intentional with their placement, so I appreciate that you noticed!!
@alia_801 Thank you Alia!
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! She'd probably rather be in Australia right now!
@smithak Thank you Smitha! I did play with the exposure just a little bit but for the most part it really is that white around here!
@sangwann Thank you Dione! I think the only thing that would cheer her up right now would be a visit from Jeff and Nick!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! LOL I would probably miss the snow in an odd way!
@daisy Thank you Kathryn! LOL I do have some deer around here that don't seem bothered when I approach them with the camera- but I've never gotten this close! I increased the exposure slightly on this picture but not by much- it really was that white.
