A Pear in the Sink by olivetreeann

A Pear in the Sink

So many of you liked the "modern art" version from a few days ago but Mike wondered what the original was like. So I did another shot of this lovely pear in my sink today. It really is the best back drop in my house!
Seen like this, you notice all the tiny spots on the pear - just part of its design. Nice still life setting!

@pools82 Thought you'd enjoy seeing what the "original" looks like.

Nice shot, Ann. Good job catching the detail and texture. It even has a bit of a reflection in the sink. Well done :)

It's pretty amazing to see the original -- quite a nice shot in its own right, and so interesting to see what you turned it into.

The lighting in this has really brought out the knobbly texture of the pear. As Taffy says interesting to see where the arty one came from.

Pretty shot. I wondered how you got the modernt art version. Now, I know (at least what the original looked like).

Thank you to one and all! Although this is not the original shot, it is the original pear. The former picture was taken on the marble top of the chest of drawers in my living room. But when I went to take the shot again this morning, the light in the kitchen was so nice, I decided to take it in there.

@daisymiller For the modern art shot all I did was upload the picture into Smart Photo Editor and then apply the effect. The computer did all the work. To be honest- I prefer this shot. But the modern art effect struck a chord with me when I applied and I let it go just for fun. This shot however makes me want to pick up the pear and take a bite!

@lleo Thank you Gwenllian! It's only this shiny when I'm using it for photos! But yes, it is generally always clean.
@nancih Thank you Nanci! I have used this sink for many shots. It really has some lovely reflective qualities especially in the morning light.
