Well, Harold here saying it's been fun visiting with you on Sundays this November. Miss Ann says we have now officially entered the Christmas season as today was the first Sunday in Advent. However we couldn't retrieve the Advent wreath from the attic because there were too many boxes in the way! I'm not sure how Miss Ann is going to manage it, but she says she'll have it down by next Sunday for sure!
For now we are just using one of the little electric tea lights on its own. Today's candle stands for hope and it's certainly something the world needs right now.
Advent takes place on the four Sundays prior to Christmas and each week has its own name. Some families light candles on an Advent wreath and also have devotionals together on those Sundays. The highlight of Advent is Christmas Eve at which time the Christ candle is brought back to the sanctuary and lit.
Thank you Sandi, Sally, Jackie, Kerri, Vesna, Nicole, Bev and Alta!
