For the Egyptian Christians who were martyred in Syria this week.
I was surprised to see these red patches falling on the marble top dresser today. They were made by some red glass pieces I have in my window. I thought of the spilled blood of innocent people viciously murdered because of their faith over the past month and this image came to mind.
The Copts are of course Egyptian, but they were murdered in Syria by ISIL. Just to keep the facts straight., although they are also dreadfully treated in their own country of Egypt also.
it is becoming a sadder, sadder situation. and something has to happen to stop this non-sense. how lucky we are that we have freedom that others take for granted or try to curtail to get their own way. very nice tribute, ann.
I'm so glad you did something like this - the tragedy turns me not only white with fury but red with frustration at not being able to do anything about it! Your shadow of the cross is apt too!
Wow. This is definitely a sign and what a way to give tribute to the people who lost their lives. I like how the shape of the cross looks like a blank spot in the red.
Thank you Vikki, Maggie, Debs, Bev, Sally, Dixie, Brigette, Graham, Kerri, Diane, Joyce, Sarah, Nicole, and Colleen. And thank you for the favs. This event has really touched me and I cry for many others who are being persecuted as well. We do live in troubled times. But I also have hope that people with changed hearts can make a difference- I've seen it so I keep praying and doing what I can, where I am.
It is difficult to comprehend the atrocities that are happening in parts of the world these days.
