This shot will not qualify for the current mundane challenge since I took it back in May when visiting Bent's Theater in Medina. But I wanted to post something for Taffy who's hosting the challenge since she's been so faithful in following my project!
This shot has a fun back-story. Vikki, Bill and I had just begun taking photos in the theater when three construction workers came through the door. They'd been working in a storefront next door to the theater and saw us go in. They'd been curious about what the theater looked like so they took a break from their job and came next door to see if it would be ok for them to wander around for a few minutes. Bryan, our "guide" was fine with that, so off they went to check out the upper floors. We followed a few minutes later and when Bill and Vikki were taking pictures in other rooms, I was looking about the hallway and main entrance to the theater for something that would catch my eye. I was just about to take a shot of the ticket window when one of the construction fellows came into the hallway and said, "You should take a shot of those stairs. Look how worn they are! You can see where the people walked and how they wore down the wood. Just think of all the shoes that walked there!" He was so enthusiastic about those stairs, I just had to take the shot. But I was more attracted to the linear pattern than the soft spots, so this is what you get! I toyed with putting this into a black and white format, but it lost all character when I did that. So, instead you get a monochrome "color" version.
There's only a few hours left to participate in the mundane challenge, but if you're so inclined, here's the link:
