Great Horned Owl and Chick

One of the members of my photo club is an avid bird photographer. He's found websites that tell you where to find different birds and I was thrilled when he invited me to come along with him to photograph this owl who has just hatched two chicks. You can only see one of them in this shot, but we did see her feeding the other- although we couldn't quite see the baby. We may go back on the 31st and if we do I'll bring the Powershot as I think it gets closer to the subjects than my zoom sometimes! This was pretty amazing to see up close.
