Our friends Bill and Karen joined us for light-writing last night. We used our fun light wands and also played around with the steel wool for a bit. Here's Bill giving the steel wool a twirl.
I love these kinds of nights. Great playing with friends outdoors and fire makes it more fun. This is a lot of light for such a dark picture and it’s energetic
Very nice. I’m still waiting for my night of glory and everywhere I go I take the necessary with me but never try because I need the help of my husband who’s not very willing to play with fire…
@caterina I hope you can find a willing "accomplice". It's a lot of fun!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond This is a really fun activity for a camera club. We recommend being near water or having water nearby. Most of the time you don't need it. But it's better to err on the side of caution.
@fbailey It's highly unlikely, but we had the garden hose nearby just in case. We also wear a hat and a jacket. The sparks fly but they don't do much harm as long as you have a little protection. We also make sure the radius of our swinger is pretty wide- the sparks fly further away then.
@maggiemae Yes, a tripod. The camera is set on bulb which means the shutter will stay open as long as you hold it open.
@onewing@kjarn It's not as dangerous as it looks. You just have to be careful and not get too wild with it. It is a lot of fun!
@robz This probably the longest exposure I've ever done on one and that was due to the fact that Bill was able to swing it around for quite a long time.
Thank you Dixie, Caterina, Jackie, Allison, Lou Ann, Felicity, Ferry, Katy, Maggie, Henri, Daisy, Wendy, Babs, Kathy, Haskar, Marnie, Rob, and Kerri! And a special thanks for the favs!
