The photo club is participating in another show at the community college where we meet. This one is called "RESCUEdog". It's supposed to be based on the theme chosen by the National Endowment for the Humanities, but in reality it is actually based on a bumper sticker one of the organizers liked (Who Rescued Who? a promotional phrase for adopting dogs from shelters). Our club as well as the 5 other organizations who contribute to these shows really struggled with pieces to enter. It's just not an easy subject to photograph. Last week when we met to finalize the details for the show, the organizers discovered just how tough its been for the artists- of 60 spots available, only 5 pieces between all our groups had been collected! So, they opened up the theme to be any kind of dog picture. I had an idea in my mind to put together a montage of some of the dogs our family has had over the years. It isn't exactly what I wanted to do but it's close enough!
So here are the shots from bottom left to bottom center, clockwise: My sister Diana with a Springer Spaniel puppy, My mother's family with their dog, and the same dog playing in the snow, me with our first family dog Reese, my mother with a dog playing in the snow, and my father and his siblings with their family dog. The funny thing about the last picture is my father was not very keen on dogs having been bitten by one when very young. I'm sure he was glad when that photo shoot was over!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and favs. It truly was a sweet trip down memory lane (although I never knew the dogs in my mom's and dad's family shots- just heard about them).
