Since our photo club can't meet in the physical sense for a while we've adjusted some of our activities to the virtual realm. Last Saturday we held a virtual photo shoot where members photographed their junk drawers at some point during the day. They could shoot the whole drawer or items from the drawer- whatever they wanted and they also had the option to process the picture or not. I thought it would be fun to try another flat lay with some of the things from my drawer and this was the result.
@dustyloup I had to laugh at your comment because the shadows do bother me! A true flat lay would not have them. But I didn't feel like taking the time to reduce them or clone them nor did I feel like redoing the picture...so I added the texture to make them make a little more sense, but.. they still bother me! Thanks Stephanie!
Thank you very much for the nice comments about this shot! And thanks also to those who faved it. This was a fun challenge for me- I do tend to collect things! At the prompting of a few of you- I think I'll post a discussion thread for others to join in during this lock down.
@hjbenson Yes- I suppose that's not actually junk but it has been unceremoniously tossed into the drawer with all the odd bits and bobs that manage to escape the trash bin.
@jyokota Thank you Junko! I have enjoyed doing a few of these. They are a fun technique to explore so I think I will include an article about it in our photo club newsletter next month.
@louannwarren Thank you Lou Ann- we have to find something useful to do with all those odds and ends, Why not a flat lay?! And thank you so much for the fav!
