Album Cover Challenge 121

I'm hosting the current album cover challenge so I thought I'd play around with one today.

Artist: Marwan I (625-685) was the 4th Umayyad caliph ruling for less than a year. He died while an expedition was underway to reconquer Iraq.

Album Title: from a quote by Lewis Thomas (1913-1993) physician, author, administrator, educator, policy advisor, researcher who served as the Dean of Yale Medical School, Dean of New York University School of Medicine and President of Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute- "It is not a simple life to be a single cell, although I have no right to say so, having been a single cell so long ago myself that I have no memory at all of that stage in my life."
