A friend of mine asked me to photograph her while she worked on a very special project.
I am always fascinated by the way a person can hold two sticks made of metal, wrap some yarn around them, wobble them back and forth and turn that yarn into something beautiful.
Beautifully captured! She seems to be knitting with round needles, I wonder what it will be? I used to knit all my children's stuff and my own sweaters. Maybe that is the reason that my fingers are so messed up now ;-)
She is making a head covering and the lacier sections are quite intricate. The "scarf" will be used as part of a therapy program for women suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Cassie is an ICU nurse who has been working with Covid patients since March 2020. It's been extremely hard on her and her fellow nurses as I know some of you can imagine coming from a medical background or being nurses yourselves. The knitting is extremely therapeutic for her. It was quite an honor to be asked to photograph this. The picture will accompany the scarf when she finishes it for the woman who runs this program.
Thank you my friends!
@ludwigsdiana Yes, they are round needles
