Apples and Oranges by olivetreeann

Apples and Oranges

Another attempt at in-camera toning. This one does appear to be more split in color between what was left in black and white and what was colored- but I still think it's more like selective coloring than toning since the red and orange are quite distinct from one another.
Wonderful image and colour, I love how the apples were left with a touch of green.

I think you might be right, but I’m not sure how to achieve that effect, which is why I gave up on it. Somehow the colors seem less strong in other photos I have seen. You have chosen a beautiful image though and I do like the way this one turned out.

Haven’t tried in-camera toning. This image is much more vibrant and has much more discrete concentrated colouring than anything I was able to achieve with post process toning.

It is a very interesting result - I like it.

Kind of looks like my fruit drawer in the fridge. With some of the fruit showing signs of age(mold).

@grammyn @gardencat This is definitely not what I would call split-toning although the way that it's named on the camera would make you think you'd get that outcome. The trouble with anything "in-camera" is that you really have no control over the outcome. The camera makes all the decisions for you. Most of the time that's not an issue (for some even a relief!) but when you're trying to take a more creative approach to the finished product, you want to have more control in color selection than this.
