Seed Balls

I am 'seeing' so many things for the first time now that I have a camera in my hand. We have a lot of these trees all through the Los Angeles area, but I never really paid any attention to them.
Now I think of natural Christmas ornaments when I spot one.
I've seen other photos here on 365 of this same kind of tree, with birds hanging on to the seed balls, munching voraciously. Hmm, I've yet to see a bird do that here. :-(

it's wonderful how photography opens our eyes isn't it! I see photos everywhere... even though I don't take them all! Really interesting 'seed balls'... you are right, they would make a great Christmas ornament!

I had never noticed these seed balls before starting 365. When I took some photos of birds on these trees, they seemed to just stick to two or three trees in the neighborhood, so you may just need to find the right tree! :-)
