This is the California Institute of Technology (CalTech) in Pasadena.
There are many newer buildings on the 124-acre campus, but I am irresistibly drawn to the warm and welcoming vintage hallways. It was blissfully quiet on this gloomy Sunday.
A LOT of big brains have walked these halls over the decades. Founded in 1891 as a preparatory and vocational college, Throop University moved to its current location in 1910.
It took on its present name in 1921 and among its alumni and faculty, has produced 31 Nobel Prize winners and 66 winners of the United States National Medal of Science or Technology.
Caltech undergraduates have historically been so apathetic to politics that there has been only one organized student protest in January 1968 outside the Burbank studios of NBC, in response to rumors that NBC was to cancel Star Trek. (LOL)
The students also posted a sign stating simply "Impeach Nixon" in 1973, which caused the college to lose a one million dollar donation from National Oil Company. (Oops!) Obviously they were not amused.
I think you have found an extra eye
These photos are showing how YOU see things in my humble opinion

Wow, thank you so much. I LOVE vintage architecture and now I'm discovering that photography gives me a way to bring a little of it home with me.
