Thien Hau Temple, Chinatown by pasadenarose

Thien Hau Temple, Chinatown

This is one of several temples in Chinatown. I didn't even know what religion it serves, so I looked it up and found that it's Taoist.
The temple is dedicated to Mazu, the Taoist goddess of the sea and patron saint to fishermen, and to those whose cultures are associated with the sea.
It was built in 2005.

I love Asian temples for their bright colors.
I love the stone structure on the foreground. The lines and contrast to all the color create a nice visual interest.
