Well, new to me! It's actually a mid-80's construction that currently belongs to my local rowing guru and friend, Alan. The shell was designed and built by 1976 Olympic silver medalist sculler, Calvin Coffey.
Note the "see-through" deck. Apparently this is the same sort of plastic sheeting that is sometimes used to cover the wings of ultra-light aircraft. And weight, no doubt, is part of the reason Coffey used it here for the deck of a rowing shell. Although more than 26 feet in length, and although I haven't checked him on this, Alan tells me it weighs only 30 pounds.
Alan has been willing to sell this to me for a couple/few years, but until last summer, I wasn't ready to row it

and/or wouldn't have had a place to store it.
Note the color-coding on the rigger: red for port; green for starboard! Since one sits in the shell facing the stern, anything to help sort out directions is a help!
