I took a few frames of Clare, Mom, and Linda, and our server stepped up and offered to take photos of the whole group. I was reminded last month that restaurant servers (for example) are not reliable photographers. So for this shot, I claimed a spot on the floor, zoomed to fill the frame and carefully handed my phone to the server. What did she do? She zoomed out and took photos in which the people filled the middle third of the frame. Sigh.

At least you got a group shot. I handed my camera to my husband (who is a capable photographer) to take a photo of me with our son. I already prepped the shot. He immediately zoomed in.
