This frog. Stood. Its. Ground.
• I took this photo at 1:45pm.
• I mowed the grass (riding mower) … around the frog.
• I edged along this fence with the line trimmer … around the frog.
• I raked clippings away from the fence … around the frog.
• At 3:30, it had turned 180°, but was still there.
• Three more hours later, it was still there.
I checked again the following morning: it was gone.
What is it? Don’t know, but in a “shallow dive” to see if ID’ing it would be easy, I did learn something: toads are frogs. They’re both in Order Anura; they deviate at “Family”: “Warty frog species tend to be called toads, but the distinction between frogs and toads is informal, not from taxonomy or evolutionary history. —Wikipedia
BTW, for size, I left the edge of the fence board in the upper-right corner of the photo. The board is 5½" wide, so this frog is rather sizable!

Oh my! Perhaps it had a big meal to digest. Cute one and capture! I could use a few of those around here. We haven't had a deluge of rain so the eastern spade foot toads haven't come out to mate in my neighbor's seasonal pond. =)
