Alternate cityscape.

Texture and double exposure to a city building.
Do you have to put two photos on top of each other in processing somehow? I like the effect but clueless as to how to produce it. I asked someone once before but can't remember the answer LOL! Brain like blancmange!

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - this was actually three images - but it's just the same as two.. I have a really old editing program but I think most of them work the same basic way. The first image was the building - I left it alone. The second one was the plant - I just used it with an inbuilt filter to produce a textured, abstract shot which was just the horizontal lines. Then I used the transparency tool to make it evenly transparent by about 50%. The third shot was the plant again- I just used an uneven transparency which gave that swirl effect - it also automatically gives it an overall transparency of about 50%. On my program I then open a new slide - a blank one and then dragged and dropped the three separate images on top of each other (the nontransparent building on the bottom)and moved them around until I got a combination that I liked. It's jolly good fun!! I think the newer programs do the same thing in layers - each photo is a layer that you work on and then compress them all together at the end, so you don't worry about opening a blank slide. I keep my old program because it's harder to use - trying to keep the "cotton wool" brain at bay! Hope this makes sense! Cheers Rob

@suzanne234 Thanks Suzanne - this whole "sort of surreal" experiment has been so much fun.

@bintal Hi Sylvia - thanks for your comment - I like doing these because it lets two quite uninteresting photos work together to make something that I find more appealing. Cheers and thanks again Rob

@robz WOW! I am so impressed! I don't even understand half the words but I am sure my program must do the stuff. Layers is a familiar word on a drop down list........never did know what it meant LOL!! I shall have an experiment and keep referring back to what you said. Thank you for taking the trouble to explain it, hugely appreciated.

@casablanca No worries -it's so much fun learning how to do things on whatever program you've got. I've been playing for 18months - at least I can do some things now - it was a big, fat nil at the beginning!! :)

Goodness- at first I thought the cherry/fruit was a wrecking ball! Time to get the eyes checked! Well done with all that layering- a very effective image!
