How do those trees survive??

Taken from inside Appealinna Homestead looking across to where the kitchen was located. The small spring in the adjacent gully was their main water suppy.
They must have very deep roots

Nice, stark image. What type of trees are they?

I agree with KoalaGardens, I imagine they will have deep roots.

@tinley23 They are River Red Gums - they grow along the edges of rivers or swamps and are able to withstand having their roots under water for quite a while. They are so impressive.

@golftragic But even some of them are starting to look very stressed - it makes you wonder just how long they can keep going with the lack of water in so many areas...

@robz Yeah, I know, the red-gums up at my son's farm are looking pretty stressed, apart from those along the river frontage.
