I looked out the window this afternoon and saw a nest in our red crab apple tree. I wasn't sure at first if it was a new nest or one from last year. A few minutes later I saw this male American Robin sitting on it. Couldn't pass up a great opportunity like this.
@hudd - Thank you very much Hudd!! I believe that what is called an American Robin isn't actually a robin. The American Robin is in the thrush family while the European Robin is in the flycatcher family.
@juleswoome - Thank you Julie!! You forgot one thing. With digital photography you can take many different shots with no cost to you other then time. Hopefully out of all those shots one will be good or even great.
@juleswoome - I have returned home too many times thinking I had the perfect picture only to view them on the monitor and find out they are slightly out of focus. So I now try and err on the side of caution.
@sparkle - Thank you Juliette!! I will swing over and look at your English Robin when I am finished posting this. As I mentioned to Hudd, I see that the American Robin isn't really a robin. The American Robin is a member of the Thrush family while the European Robin is a member of the Flycatcher family.
@jannkc - Thank you so much Jann and particularly for the FAV!
