Chicory

Yes chicory is a deeper blue, but the sun was behind the plant and washed out the colors. After comparing this photo with the ones I took of the normal blue flower I kind of liked this one better. I looked up chicory in my Peterson's Wildflower Guide and found out there is white chicory. May that is why this was so light and not so much that it was back lit.

Nice wash out...It's how we get to see them sometimes in the fields. Beautiful soft lighting.

@jenniferruge - I guess I didn't pay that close of attention when I took the photo that there really isn't a center like most flowers have. The stamens look like they are scattered around.
