One of the tall ships on display at the Port of Cleveland during the 2013 Tall Ships Festival. The Lynx was designed to interpret the configuration and operation of a privateer schooner from the War of 1812. The Lynx's crew compliments her historical character by wearing period uniforms and operating in keeping with maritime traditions of early 19th century America. The Lynx is based out of Newport Beach, California.
@lynnb - Thank you Lynn for your wonderful comments and fav! One of the ships, Liana's Ransom, is based in Halifax. I didn't get any photos of it though.
@juletee - Thank you! If you get a chance by all means go. A couple of the ships offer rides, but they were booked. You can walk on all of them if you don't mind waiting in long lines.
@jannkc - Not all. One is from Norway, "Sorlander", one is from Holland, "Unicorn" and made from German U-boat metals and three are from Canada, "Liana's Ransom", "Fairplay" and "Pathfinder".
@libertylady - Hi Alice, I see that you live in Texas but showed some interest in the Tall Ships Festival in Cleveland. Mark your calendar for two years. I am not sure it will happen then but I can let you know as soon as I can when the next one is scheduled. I know this is short notice, but they are holding another one at Put-In-Bay, Ohio when they do a re-enactment of the Battle of Lake Erie from August 29 - September 10. http://battleoflakeerie-bicentennial.com/
