As the bitter cold holds its grip the birds are eating from sunrise to sunset. I captured this female Northern Cardinal while she had a brief time alone to enjoy some casual dining. I thought I'd make another attempt at a six word story.
Lovely shot and the quiet background is so nice, really shows her off.
My poor birds are eating like crazy too....must be burning a lot of food just to try and keep warm.
Haha....good one....I wish that the birds had behaved the same way here...no birds at my feeders since mid-November despite lots of food and fresh water! And it's been cold!!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to view and comment which placed this briefly on the Trending Page! I cropped this to only include half of the feeder and I did some processing to bring out some detail in her feathers. I also processed the feeder separately to give it a mottled look. The background is what it is. I used my 70-200mm lens with a 2x extender which nicely blurs the background when I want it to.
