@deu49097 - Thank you Dawn for the 'beautiful' comment, fav and follow!

@maggiemae - Thank you Maggie! I was somewhat surprised since there were three blossoms on the one plant and two of them looked pretty bad, but this one was as you said, "beautifully formed."

@mzzhope - Thank you Hope! It is one of the prettiest roses I have seen in awhile that was growing outdoors.

@kerristephens - Thank you Kerri!

@shepherdmanswife - Thank you Chantal!

@princessliz - Thank you Joan! It certainly was!

@gilbertwood - Good for you Denise!

@joansmor - Thank you on both counts Joan.

@ziggy77 - That is is Jo! Thank you!

If I looked to see if there are indeed thorns, does that make me a pessimist? What really caught my eye is how velvety the petals look in this image.

@lyndemc - I believe if you notice the beauty of the rose first you are an optimist. If then you look for thorns, it is only a safety precaution!

you captured this so well! I can even see the softness in those petals.

A beautiful red rose. I was not sure if I was an optimist but I must be, 'cos I only see the flower and never even think of the thorns!!

@quietpurplehaze - Thank you Hazel! My wife and I were some place recently that had some roses. It might have been while we were at Stan Hywet, but there were rose bushes and I have never seen so many thorns on a bush before. The main branches were utterly covered where there was no way to pick one without being pierced no matter how hard you tried.
