Red Crabapple Blossoms by skipt07

Red Crabapple Blossoms

Since I did white yesterday, I thought I'd do the red ones today! Shot against the sky with my long lens and 2x extender.
Thank you all very much for all you views, gracious comments and favs for my shot yesterday placing it in the PP!!
Lovely shot - and you've answered the question I've had for several years - there is a tree down by the creek that has both the red and the white blossoms - think it's a case where two crabapple trees may have been grafted - but I wondered if that's what the red blossom was. Love it against the white background.

So pretty! I agree with Lisa that they look like a botanical drawing. The white background really sets them off.

Very pretty- I thought it looked like a beautifully painted plate- much like some of the others who thought it was a drawing.

Thank you so much for you very kind comments and favs placing this on the PP! I am very grateful! I saw a how to workshop video on macros and surprisingly the instructor said he used a long lens rather then a short macro so the the long lens with it wide open so that it would nicely blur the background. And so I dug out my Tamron 70-200 USD 2.8 lens and put my 2x extender on too. I didn't need it to blur the background since it was the sky but I am amazed at the detail I got in the petals and the leaves. Your acceptance has made this even better.
