One of the treats for our granddaughter was panning for gemstones at the caverns. They had a gift shop where you could purchase bags containing, sand, dirt and stones. You then went out to this sluice and poured the contents of your bag into sieves and let the water wash the dirt away. We were greatly surprised at the amount of nice stones they had in her bag. She was so tickled!
