Unusually heavy rains struck So Cal last night and today. At lunchtime the rain suddenly stopped and the sun popped out. I spent the lunch hour scouring puddles for reflections. This is the driveway in front of the office building in which I labor away. People nearby were giving me some very curious looks as I snapped away at what they only saw as sloppy puddles. Only photographers can know and understand the secrets and the beauty that pools of water lying on the ground hold.
This is incredible You could almost turn the photo upside down and have it look right. You did well, Ron. Yes, we surely did have some heavy rains. We even had lightning, thunder, and even hail today before noonish when, yes, the sun emerged. And it was COLD! (When people give me curious looks and then ask why I'm photographing mundane things, I don't bother trying to explain 365. I just say, "I'm on a photography scavenger hunt". It works.
You seem top have been in quite the happenin' place today! Ashley showed us some video shot at the pier and wow! Hail that looked like snow! Nothing so sensational here...which is just as well! I shot photos for you of a couple golf courses and the Harley shop
Perhaps you inspired the gawkers to have a look at the puddles and see something amazing. I saw pics of the hail-covered beach, even one of a snowman with a surfboard leaning up against it. Quite the unusual sight for Southern Cal.
Ya know, 'donkey' never crossed my mind for 'A' but it's a good one. I'm writin' that one down for next year.
reflections always capture my attention... I think its because its one of those things that people see everyday but never stop to see the magic in them... you stopped :-) great shot.
Really nice reflections. I think we all understand how it feels to have people look at us weirdly when taking a shot. They just can't see the beauty we see...LOL
