the busiest place in toronto, anytime of year. and there's plenty of historic buildings towards the west. and yes, there's that pesky little tower again. it's everywhere!
mostly cloudy in toronto today, windy and coolish. and i myself am feeling under the weather. twas a good thing i was busy at work so i forgot that i am feeling sick. i had a taste for shrimp balls and shrimp dumpling so i took the streetcar to chinatown. bought mango instead.
tried this BW focal processing in picnik so i could highlight that chinese arch that's fixed in the middle of the road. what else can one do with a busy picture like this. i promise tomorrow will be a better one and if the skies are clear in the evening, i just might do a night shot for you.
so sorry that you are not feeling well......yet you still found a unique new shot. As stated earlier -- that tower IS stalking you!! Take it easy this evening.....get some extra rest!
aww - hope you feel better! i did a series (pre-365 project, but may be revisted) of doorways in Chinatown in Seattle...when you feel better it may be something worth checking out in your area as well..?
I really need to start taking pics of downtown Toronto. I've been here all my life yet never brought the camera with me to the streets. Hope you feel better!
I like the BW focal processing- The red arch is perfect. Why does every city have a China Town? We stayed in Bostons China Town this spring- it was fun, great food. Hope your day is better!
@pamfromcalgary thanks, pam; you're so kind. @reanne - this crazy weather's making me crazy. @sticksandstones - i'll try that, jenny. thank you. @russianblue - for sure! do you need a wingman? :-) thank you. @jannkc - thanks, jann. no city should be without a china town! @gailreese - thank you, gail. @gbert204955 - thanks, gilbert. binondo? do they still call it binondo? reminds me of the good old days. @rynce - thank you, rynce. @deens - thank you, nadine. @bruni - thank you, bruni. i'm sure you'll find a lot of good subjects where you live; it's just a matter of exploring the place and "finding the treasure".
thank you so much, everyone, for your feedbacks and your concern. feeling a tad better today.
I think the "busyness" makes this particular shot. It's Chinatown and I've never known any Chinatown to be serene or quiet, Always busy, always going. All the "stuff" in the framing of this shot is fabulous.
@celticmystyc - i very seldom go to chinatown anymore because i get dizzy when i'm amidst a lot of people. but when i have a hankering for shrimp balls and dimsum, chinatown is the place to be. thanks for the comment, S. much appreciated.
Speaking of Chinatown... I miss eating in Binondo. Hhhmmnn... why not go there this weekend. LOL. Thanks for this Summer!
good shot of China Town... I wish I lived closer so many photo apportunities.
