so i found out it's our CN tower's birthday today. all 35 years of it. so i gave it a birthday portrait to remember the occasion. happy birthday, CN tower. why, you don't even look a day over 30 let alone 35!
i went to centre island as i felt i should do a night shot of the june 15 portrait and also to check out if the old minolta still works. i had it checked at lunchtime over at 'aden' camera shop. nothing to be done, it's perfect! the batteries were replaced. i was told to hang on to it. i'll see tomorrow if i used it right, hopefully out of 36 shots, i've got at least 1 or 2 good ones :-)
this time there was no duck or loon to chase me, however, the mosquitoes had a grand time with me. but the view was splendid and i love the sound of water as it softly hits the rocks (and intermitently disturbed by my smacking right and left at the mosquitoes). but thank heavens the month's drawing to a close i don't have to do anything of this sort again.
sooc except for the frame and name tag done while picnik-ing. (it's late and i've been up late two nights in a row. i will give my thanks, and comment on your photos as well, tomorrow. i hope you won't get offended.)
wowwww -- just when I thought you could not come up with anything I could like better -- and there you go!!!!! Yes, I would have sworn it didn't look a day over 30 -- ! Has it lost weight? Tummy tuck? Glad the loon left you alone, but sounds like the loon sent the mosquitoes after you (bloodthirsty little suckers!) I can just hear the water - and the slapping! And you have any old Minolta? So do I! My first camera -- still my favorite! Suspect I need new batteries.....! Hope you got some good shots! My day is not complete until I've seen your pic! Get some sleep!
@meggageg - thank you, meg. @sunnygreenwood - thanks, anne, and i am slowly running out of ideas which in a way is good as june is almost over. yay! but i will miss doing this. @bkbinthecity - the CN tower thanks you :-) and i thank you, too! @cscecil - thank you, thank you, thank you, CS. i feel so tired still but i've committed to do this till the end. i used a 36-roll with my minolta XG-1 last night but i'm afraid i won't see the results until later this week. it rained at lunchtime and i can't go to the camera place to have it processed.
@danig - thank you, DG. so glad you like it @steeler - thank you, howard. @rynce - thank you, rynce. @jannkc - thank you, jann. @slang - thank you, sean. i had no choice about the tree, it was there, but i thought i'd make full use of it rather than walk further in to the islands. it was so dark around there.
@summerfield I'm sure but the tree and branches make it that much more interesting...it's not just another night shot. It gives it some character. Nicely done!
