"blackbird" by the beatles

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life you were only waiting for this moment to arise"
(McCartney, with Harrison; from the album "The Beatles" (a.k.a. White Album), 1968)

this song has very sparse lyrics. it is not one of my favourite beatles song, still i like the catchy tune, typical of paul mccartney's songwriting style.

i caught the blackbird's pic during lunchtime. i don't know what i do with my camera but sometimes it just takes humongous - like 7MB - pictures.

it was foggy in the morning in toronto, then when it lifted at lunchtime, i got upset hearing loud engine noises. turned out there was an airshow going on! whew! then it was unbelievably hot in the afternoon. i was supposed to walk the 20 minutes or so walk down beside the CN tower to take a picture of the blue jays way but that didn't materialize. so, @altadc, "black bird" it is for today!

methinks this 'beatles' challenge is going to be stressful :-). processed in picnik
very nicely done, good photo for your album

fabulous processing -- love the green -- really makes a bold contrast against the black! So don't stress yourself out -- a creative challenge is one thing, stress is another and not worth it! So, make it fun -- or just go with songs! Your fans will love it -- you know we will!!!

@danig - thanks, DG. i love this song, but when i was still a young warthog and playing this on the guitar, somehow the strings always managed to break and several times almost blinded me. :-)

@netkonnexion - thank you muchly.

@bkbinthecity - i probably won't get too stressed, unlike last month's challenge. i think i know most of the lyrics of the songs of the beatles, so all i need do is take the appropriate photo. thanks.

@sunnygreenwood - thank you, anne. sometimes i think i should concentrate on taking photos, but then again if i can do that with something else that's fun, why not?

One of the pearls of the beatle-songs. I sang it a few weeks ago, together with a girlfriend, just for fun. Lovely picture, Ms. Summerfield.

@ilseal - wow, i would've loved to hear you sing, ilse. you do play an instrument, don't you? i think a flute or a jazz trumpet. i'd imagine you have a jazzy voice. thank you, ms. ilse.
