"rocky raccoon" by the beatles

"Now Rocky Raccoon, he fell back in his room
Only to find Gideon's bible
A-Gideon checked out
And he left it no doubt
To help with good Rocky's revival, aw!"
(McCartney and Lennon, from the album "The Beatles" (a.k.a. The White Album"), 1968)

The song is primarily written by Paul McCartney; the lyrics describe a conflict over a love triangle between Rocky Raccoon, his love interest Magill who called herself Lil but everyone knew her as Nancy, and a guy who called himself Dan. This is the last Beatles song to feature John Lennon's harmonica playing.

this is the only mccartney-written song that i could honestly say i like for its bouncy, upbeat tune. i couldn't find my 'gideon's bible' (i know i had one at some point in my travelling days) so i had to use a 100-year old bible. i do not mean to offend anyone by my use of the book in my photo and if anyone is, i do apologize, but please know that i mean no disrespect.

it's been a terribly busy weekend and the tiredness is getting to me. i wanted to have posted "run for your life" but the lyrics are a tad offensive in these days of political correctness. plus all the photos i took of the runners passing by my building didn't turn out well. so a little improvisation was the order of the day.
grandkids will do that to you! glad you had a great weekend, cool pic and words

@patticake - thanks so much, patti. you're always so kind. i feel much better now, although the weather outside is crappy as ever. hopefully it would get better the next two days as i have some places to go to photograph and i hate photographing in the rain. hope your weekend's nice, too.
