i chose the word 'through' for today. as in the month is almost through and so is this challenge, almost, not quite as we have one more day to go. so far i have only used one wild card. mighty impressive, isn't it?
today the sun shone gloriously on toronto. it was a good day for going around for photographs, but i didn't do much. it was so damn cold and windy. tried to take photos of falling leaves but didn't have the patience in that kind of weather.
this afternoon as i walked through the parkette near my building, i took a pic of the sunshine filtered through the yellowed leaves of a tree. a branch dangled low from a larger branch, so low i could do a macro of its leaf, or whatever macro my little nikon can perform.
(this is sooc but for the frame and name tag.)
i had some of my photos printed last week and they came out really well. also, i promised our united way committee person that i will have two printed in size 10 x 15 so i can donate them to our silent auction. it costs only $8 for a print that size. i'm thinking either of the june 20 or july 19 and august 1 or september 13 photos. what do you think, folks?
I vote June 20 or Sept 13. I had 3 swan pics put in a 3 hole frame and a bunny rabbit photo that I donated last year and 1 brought $75 and the other $50. I think it is a great way to make a donation!
what a neat idea, to donate to a silent auction. sept 13. love this one, also like june 20. confused yet? i would use a matte finish a not the white border.
This is a very pretty shot- the light is especially beautiful through that leaf. I too like the June 20th and I also like the July 19th shot (the marina). The farm shot is definitely a good runner-up! So nice of you to donate them- I think they will do well!
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. i, too, hope that it will get good money for the fundraising. just to make sure, i will ask that there should be a reserved bid to cover the cost of the printing which isn't much. everything goes toward the fundraising anyway.
This is a very interesting leaf! I don't think that it is native to Canada?...Anywho...I just love how you see the light along the edges. It almost looks like a ballroom gown in full swing. (except for the color..lol)
(I vote June 20 and Aug 1)
@roth - there's a lot of this along the danforth, sue. and they're always the last to shed off their leaves. maybe it's native to the danforth? :-) ballroom gown eh? thank you, sue.
