we had a group Christmas lunch that took up most of the afternoon, so i couldn't go to the lake earlier. managed to walk down at 4:30, in rush hour traffic, human and vehicles, and the sky was heavy with gray clouds. it was cold when i got to the boardwalk. there were young couples making out but not within my range so that was a relief. a plane was going to make a landing but the sky was too dark. the lights in the islands were already on.
the ferry is on winter schedule and it provided a nice focal point to an otherwise boring scenery. if i knew how to combine two shots, i would have done that, but i don't know how and i don't have the program or app to do that - i also have a shot where a guy suddenly passed by and he came out half-blurry, half-focused. maybe i will post that one tomorrow if my plan of waking up and taking a sunrise at the lake shot does not pan out.
Love SOOC photos! And how nice for that ferry to pass by for this one. I love this photo, summerfield. I didn't know about the same-subject challenge . . but it's a great idea to try this. I also think that same spot/different seasons would be kinda fun too. Anyway . . great work! :)
@pamfromcalgary - i, too, am looking forward to tomorrow's shot, pam. i haven't been there early in the morning. it should be interesting. thank you, pam.
@karenann - i thought i'd process it to make it a bit more cheery, but i also realized that it's probably the point of taking this part of the lake as subject for the 7 days - to see the changes, the differences that take place everyday. thank you, karenann.
@sanera - the photo came out a lot lighter than it actually was when i was there. but, yes, the lights in the background indicate the difference between this and the four other shots. i was lucky i caught the ferry just at the right time. thank you, sam.
@russianblue - kass, i live on the danforth just west of coxwell so i can easily take the early subway trains downtown then walk a bit south on bay - if i wake up early enough i could catch the sunrise from this part of the islands, maybe. thank you, kass.
@roth - ah, thank you, sue. if you find yourself down there, look for the weird person with a front pack purse (as opposed to a back pack), and ear muffs but no gloves.
This works really well for your same subject challenge. I like how each day it's quite familiar and there is still a subtle difference. Nice shot with the ferry.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. the scenery certainly changes each day and each hour and the challenge is to be able to capture those changes. although i refuse to stay there the whole day.
@cscecil - it's only 20F with some wind. :-) thank you, CS.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian. glad you're having fun.
@alia_801 - thank you, alia. i might catch up with your challenge as from monday.
