the bucket list is getting shorter. and harder, too. but today i got plenty of gourmet chocolates so naturally it is my potd. 'tis a good thing i remembered to take a photo before they were all gone. i had to be creative with the few that were left, so the old heart-shaped candy dish got pulled from the drawers and made a rather timely appearance. i can't remember anymore what the flavours were but i assure you they were all good.
i just realized that valentine's day was more special to me when i was a young kid. i remember our teachers would let us make valentine cards, and they were all crappy and ugly, but we'd bring them to our parents and i know for sure that my mother kept my crappy valentine cards for almost forever in her little cabinet. of course, those were discarded when we cleaned out her things after she died. in hindsight, i should have kept those ugly cards.
last year, my little grandson gave me two silly rings that were in the shape of a heart. why two, i asked him. and he said "well, one is your heart and one is my heart and that way our hearts are always together." (see my post on february 20, 2011 - http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2011-02-20 )
but really, the only nice thing about this valentine thing is that tomorrow all the nice chocolates are on sale! yay!
thank you everyone for your views and comments. know that i shall be returning the favour soon. this is sooc but for the framing and the name tag which i cannot find.
chocolates on sale tomorrow??! I'm going to a store!!! This is a very lovely shot -- and I hope you have those two "silly" rings your grandson gave you last year! How very, very sweet!!
@cscecil - yes, they will be, at least here in toronto. i'm going to buy a lot for easter. i will just change the wrappers. hahahaha. thank you CS. yes, i still have the one silly ring the other one got sucked by the vacuum cleaner. hehehe.
@danig - i understood what you first wrote :-) wonder if i can send you chocolates. would that be blocked at the post office? thank you, mate. i'm moseying on down to yours right now.
Very sweet. My wonderful husband is totally challenged in the gift-giving dept. Every once in a while he hits the mark, but today all I got was a card. sigh...
@bkbinthecity - yeah, once everyday is good. thank you, brian.
@steeler - yes! that's what i'm talking about! chocolate should be a staple, especially the chocolate truffles with goodies inside them. thank you, howard.
What CLARITY! Lovely for the cupid day. Your grandson is so thoughtful with his comments . . talented like his Grandmere! I recognize those two gorgeous roses. Hope that you both had a wonderful day, summerfield.
@roth - ya think so? really? hmmmm, let me look at it again. i don't know. i just want another chocolate! thank you, sue.
@danig - having some right now. hehehe!
