i went around my household last night looking for anything with the colour aqua. didn't realize i have nothing in that colour, except for a bead bracelet that someone gave me a long time ago. then i remembered! in 2008, when i visited manila for our school reunion, one of the ladies who became my friend (she makes and sells bead jewellery in manila) gave me a necklace, with lots of beads and a rather curious looking pendant, and that the dominating colour was aqua. aqua as in light bluish green to light greenish blue. i knew it was in a box and it's in my bookshelf. and voilà!
i like this necklace but i've not worn it because necklace like this does not go with a small body frame (shhhhh, don't be deflating my ego, okay?). i mean it's enormous, but not heavy, that i would look awkward wearing it. that pendant would look more handsome if resting on an abundant chest with a cascade of blondish or light coloured hair (hair from the head not on the chest!).
so, what i'm leading at is the lovely necklace is up for grabs. it has sat there in my book shelves for four years, i think my friend wouldn't be offended if i give it to someone who would use it, n'est-ce pas? do you like it? do you want it? let me know.
Very pretty! This is the kind of necklace my friend Debbie would wear- and she fits your description perfectly! But Debbie has a jewelry chest full of jewelry and does not need anymore (plus I think she's got something very similar to this already)! Anyway, lovely shot- you've featured the aqua beautifully! absolutely adore this necklace, you have such a talented friend. reminds me of turquoise, which is believed to be male and female. this looks to be shells, though, and i can't remember the name of them - begins with an 'a'. lovely presentation. i completely understand your explanation as to why you do not wear it.

Always. Goes well with my wardrobe of blacks, taupes, etc. Beautiful colors in this one and lovely photo.
my heart just stopped when I saw this!!!! Absolutely one of my most favorite colors and a necklace I would have nabbed in a instant if I had seen it in someone's handmade jewelry for sale booth! Wow -- it's so beautiful!!!!! I love jewelry and wear it all the time -- but I don't have blonde hair or an ample bosom -- or a hairy chest...... It is GORGEOUS!!!! I love it. I would wear it in a heartbeat!
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. jewelry is quite difficult to shoot, as it all depends on the set up. in any case, all i wanted was to capture the colour and thank goodness my canon cooperated this morning. please tag me when you post your may challenge when you've come up with something.

Me too, summerfield ...I think that it's our tiny size! I can wear my cross (always.) But otherwise a watch is about my only constant piece of jewelry.

had to come back to read the rest of the comments to see who wanted the necklace. it is sooo pretty. interesting how it was made. i was thinking of abalone. although i have what i consider to be a way too ample chest, i like small jewelry and rarely wear anything around my neck. at most, my wedding band, maybe mother's ring and that is it. which reminds me, must take mother's ring in to be repaired. lost my stone.
cool pic...that's a great looking piece and the colours are just amazing Jackie has so many baubles and bangles that they overflow her jewellery box like the pirate treasure chests in the movies...even so she would snap up this piece in a heartbeat.
