yesterday, i got caught in a sudden downpour at lunchtime on my way back to the office from the market. my rain jacket would not have been enough to sustain me for the three/four blocks walk. so i stopped at a covered part of the sidewalk and waited it out. i had my camera in my purse so i thought i'd take random photos as i feel useless when i'm just standing doing nothing. i forgot that the camera was set in b&w but quite happy that i managed to capture the raindrops, both before and after they hit the ground (best viewed large to see the rain falling). it would have been nice without the cars in the foreground but we take what we can get under such circumstances, n'est-ce pas?
the irony was the grey parts behind the tree branches? that's the blue sky. so this was an isolated downpour that took a while to stop.
two more days of black and white and we'll return to a world full of colours! yay!
thank you so much for dropping by. hope your day today is filled with sunshine.
oh, brother, now he wants a night shot! hahahaha! good eye on the lamps, terry, although they're not gas lamps. one night i'll go to the part of the town, a block north of this street) where the gas lamps are still in use -it's the shoe-in for new york of 1920's for filming. thank you, terry. much appreciated.
You always turn a "lemon into lemonade!" Don't just stand there ... get the picture! Love this enlarged ... quite the downpour. Rain shots are beautiful .... and are great in b&w.... great architecture there too.
@karenann - yeah, but for every good shot i got, i would have missed 10 to-die-for shots, as sometimes i'm just staring while holding the camera. hahaha. thank you, karenann, for your very generous comments and moral support. you're a good friend.
@cscecil - now we're going to have a trio with danielle! hahaha! no, didn't get wet too much, just the hem of my skirt and my new shoes. thank you, CS.
