the boys and i went on a tour of Toronto's downtown and uptown. derrick loved learning history and was taking notes so he could search the full history of anything he was interested in on the internet. darren on the other hand had asked for his old camera and took about 80 photos.
i was quite pleased when i downloaded his shots and found the boy has got real talent in photography. this is the historic st. lawrence hall's clock tower on king street.
what do you think? i know, i should've turned off the date stamp. ooops!
i'm so proud of him. he was talking about how the beautiful blue of the sky makes for a beautiful setting, and that the clouds 'add character to the photo'. things he heard from lola summerfield no less! thanks again, ladies.
Well done Darren! And way to raise up the next generation of 365ers Lola!!
I have a huge favor to ask you. I am planning to enter my first photo competition and of course I am going back and forth, back and forth over which photos to enter. So I'm asking a few select people to look over my photos (not really May because everyone does flower shots) and suggest 3 or so- whatever seems to grab you as competition worthy. You can look in either/or or both albums- whatever time permits. Just let me know what date and which album. Thanks- I trust your opinion!!
@summerfield There are categories- I'm sure you will pick out photos that match them. They are pretty typical such as animals and people, landscape or nature and there's one more but I don't have the paper in front of me and I can't remember it. Not to worry as I said- I'm sure you'll pick out something I can use.
I think it helps to look at other's photography and decide what looks a good way to take pictures. Does Darren do that? I like the clarity and the fact he hasn't cut the flag out of the picture!
Great point of view and awesome composition. Sounds like a wonderful day where both boys got enjoyment doing something together with you but in different ways.
