This is viewed from Halstead Street, looking east toward North Michigan Avenue and the lake. The sun was just starting to go down and the lighting was wonderful. I was trying to capture the western edge of Lincoln Park across the snow, from low-rise to high-rise.
@arthurk Thanks! I'm inspired by Michael Elliott @michaelelliott who does such amazing documentation of NYC. I look forward to weather improving so I can do even more with city shots. Chicago is such a vibrant place. Worth a visit!!
A wonderful shot and beautiful lighting. Just as my Cambridge photo the other day reminded you of your visit there, so this reminds me of a conference I was at in Chicago several years ago.
@fueast It's about 3 or 4 miles north of UIC. Closer to the far west edge of Lincoln Park (taken facing east, from the west side of Halsted Street and just north of Division, if you know Chicago).
Great capture of the city in a different light than you've been photographing it. Those clouds look like cotton candy -- the colors of the sky and clouds are so yummy!
I wonder if you might want to crop a little off the left so the Sears is slightly more off-centered? (of course, I'm not suggesting taking down a photo once up because you lose all your valuable comments!)

@arthurk Thanks, as always!
I do love the city and it's fun to try to show it off.
We're in NW Indiana, close enough to the lake that we didn't see any sun today, just more snow! :(
@kerristephens @topcat @gary @kimshots Thanks for your support.
@dolphin I'm glad to have prompted memories of our wonderful city. @pflaume @tthompsonca @melody2289 @kwind @anwan @joannbayne

@danielwsc I agree -- it's fun to show off our city.
