Shocking! by taffy

Shocking!

Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry is a photographer's dream. This exhibits about currents/lightening/natural disasters 'struck' me.
At the other end of the continuum of exhibits is one on transportation ( http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-03-16).
Very cool shot! Were you in the dark when you took this?

@pflaume It was dark-ish, but there was a fair amount of ambient light. I upped the blackpoint in Aperture and got rid of a few stay light spots in processing it. But mainly I just stopped down the aperture to get the background out of the shot as much as possible.

We visited there a few years ago with my girls on a huge road trip. LOVED this museum. Girls had a blast and we bought one of these table top current balls. Nice capture!

Terrific shot, Taffy! The lightning looks so vivid and I like how you got the background darker.

@topcat Thank you Kevin.
@darylo The museum is a great place to go with kids. Thanks for viewing and the supportive comment.
@anwan Thanks Annette! All it took was a little upping of blackpoint.
@tuesdaygirl I wish I could take credit, but there was a fairly big element of luck and just taking a lot of shots in hopes one or two would work out!

@danielwsc I'd thought about titling it "Itsy Bitsy Spider..." because of the tentacles.
