Continuing to look at my surroundings in a different way -- or making the familiar strange. I was taking photos at sunset using a bokeh kit I'd bought several months ago. That experiment was a total bust, but while out there, I was photographing the grasses which are always interesting to me. This was heavily processed (to make the familiar even more strange!) using Color Efex Pro, with multiple filters.

Very creative.
There was a challenge .. but life has moved on , so don't worry.
If you should be stuck for a shot .. take an object from 3-5 rooms , then assemble the mish- mash for any sort of still life. I enjoyed your challenge very much
Very creative. You mentioned colour Efex pro, is that part of the full Nik collection, I ask as someone suggested I get it for B&W shots but I'm not sure whether get one or all of it....any thoughts on the matter?
@jo13 I LOVE Nik suite -- it's totally useable even as a beginner in processing and then it just keeps growing (or rather I do) in realizing all the different things you can do with it. I mostly use color efex and silver efex (the b&w) one, but they have a sharpening one that is sometimes helpful and their HDR is good -- I still don't have the full capability of it down, but can use it for single or multiple images.
@taffy Great, thanks for that, I will count up my pennies and see if I can afford it, I am desperately trying to save up for a camera upgrade at the mo, getting quite expensive this hobby of mine!!
@jo13 So agree about the money! I had no idea 2 years ago when I bought the camera that the pound notes would keep trying to leave my purse. .. they just keep flying way.
Hi there Taffy
Yes I'm up for a get-pushed challenge. I dropped and damaged my camera a little while ago and repairs are taking a lot longer than I thought (this is Africa) I should have it back in the next few days.
Your albums are amazing! I see you like taking night shots and playing with light, so I would like you to take a shot of a burning light bulb. I found this tutorial which might help: http://www.diyphotography.net/photography-project-a-burning-light-bulb
Have fun and looking forward to seeing your results
@june@jo13 I had to smile when I read your notes -- I agree, and it's so interesting how something I'd never even heard of, after reading someone's comment or description, suddenly becomes one of those, "How can I live without it" items!! Went on for months if not years not even being aware it existed until...
@momsta Great! I love this challenge and will start thinking about it right away. And I"ll get something posted to you either later tonite or tomorrow, knowing you are without camera for another few days. That must have been frustrating!
@jodimuli It's actually beach grass, so they are 'here and there'. I was desperate for anything last night as I didn't have a single photo I liked from the day. I'm glad you think it worked as an abstract!

Thanks Arefin, Anne, Colie, and Joan. This was one of those shots I almost didn't post as it felt like it was only through all the editing that it was even a little interesting. So, I've very much appreciated the positive response -- as I did learn some more about editing options!
@momsta Hi Michelle -- I was planning to do the shot this weekend, but unfortunately, it's out of the realm of what I'm comfortable doing on the island. I don't have access to that many light bulbs, nor to places to buy the things I might need for making this a stable and safe mounting. So, very sorry to disappoint, but I'm not going to be able to do it. I will try to do something with light bulbs, however -- just not burning them.
