We're back in Chicago but when I looked at today's photos, there was nothing I liked as well as one more bridge shot from our weekend in San Francisco. This was taken from a boat as we sailed under the Golden Gate bridge which separates San Francisco Bay from the pacific ocean. As the sun was setting, it highlighted the red color of the bridge. And, if you have good eyes, there is a bird in the lower left corner (truly, that is not a spot!), that gives it a little sense of scale. That was one gigantic bridge!
Hi Taffy! Shall we meet tomorrow Sept 19? Can you confirm our appointment by sms? Is 3.30 pm still firm with you? We didn't do Navy Pier nor Museum Campus (in terms of photo walks) so far. But we'll wait to hear your suggestions.
Thanks and look forward to meeting you.
@mara19500 -- let's plan on museum campus. I should be done by 3:30. We can meet on the front steps of the Shedd Aquarium -- just ask at your hotel how to get there. I'll plan to be there by 3:45 and will text you if that changes. And you can reach me on my cell easily as well. See you tomorrow!
@elaine55 Thanks so much Elaine! The time is Chicago time, though, as I didn't reset my camera for the weekend. So in California, it was only 7:56...just about sunset, but they have a fairly reasonable length of twilight which is when I caught this one.
Great shot, really shows the size. There is a offcut of one of the suspension cables in the Museum of Science and Industry, the specifications are astounding.
@amandal Thanks Amanda! We actually wanted to start in Sausalito but didn't have time to get there and back before the last ferry. So this was out of Pier 39 (and back to the same spot). I was glad we got to go on it as our days there were chopped up by other activity/obligation and even a bit of work so we had to go to Plan B and it worked out just fine.
@fueast@colie Thanks Colie and Alison! I appreciate the view, visit, and comment. It was fun to be able to see this and shoot the image from underneath.
excellent pov. can never take enough pictures of this bridge. You have a great album. I am your get pushed partner for this week and my challenge for you is to take an abstract of a building in b&w. Let me know if this works for you. looking forward to your creativity.
@smithak Thanks Smithak (is that your name?). It's a great challenge and will be fun to do. I'm teaching tonite til 8:00 p.m. and am planning to review your album after dinner and get you a challenge then. Looking forward to it!
Love how red the bridge looks and the awesome perspective! I was in San Fran for only a day, it was so foggy that day and I couldn't see the red color. Love this shot!
